Super Cute Zipper Clutch
I started this clutch last summer, I had it all cut out. I figured I'd finish it up for March's project. I used a Kekya Lou pattern. Her tutorials are awesome! There is a small, medium, and large clutch pattern. I used the medium size. Stefanie

Another IGP. Made this tonight for a friend. She got the fabric and I made my "signature" (ha ha) bag for her! :) So quick and fun! ~Becky

Drawstring Bag and Reusable Produce Bag
A few years ago, my sister turned me on to this super easy Market Bag from All People Quilt. Since then I have made a ton of these bags! I have only made the smaller size as it is perfect for holding gifts, lunches, a small craft project, etc. Basically it is an "Everything" Bag!
In January, my friend Sydney and I tried out a new drawstring bag from In Color Order. The way they did the straps were awesome and a true drawstring! I decided that the next time I made the market bag, I would try out the drawstring strap from Lined Drawstring Bag Tutorial from In Color Order.
Because the market bag is larger than the lined drawstring bag, I cut my two straps 3"x30". I ended up sewing the edges together but if you wanted to tie knots like the tutorial you will want to cut them a little longer. Both ways are super cute! Knot vs. No Knot.
My second bag project was a Reusable Produce Bag. I had come across a couple of different tutorials on a few blogs awhile back. I decided I wanted to try one out. When I told my cousin Jenny my project for the month she emailed me a tutorial from a magazine as she had made some around Christmas time. I used the tutorial as a guide and kind of did my own thing.
This project was a fun "upcycling" project as I used leftover fabric scraps from a project at Christmas and the netting came from my mom's old pack and play that broke! When she told me I could have it, I immediately grabbed the scissors and cut out all four side panels of netting .
I cut my bottom fabric 4.5" wide, the netting 10" wide, and the top 2.5" wide. My super awesome sister and mother both assisted with me with their sergers to sew my bag together. It "finished" the edges quite nicely! Also, instead of using ribbon and a cord stop for the strap, I just made a strap out fabric. I made it kind of wide on this one so next time I will make it a little bit smaller!

Drawstring bag
Alison told me I wasn't allowed to use this bag for my march "bag" but I told her I can do whatever I want :) so its just a simple drawstring bag. I didn't box the corners because 1) I forgot and 2) I was too lazy to go back and do them! They work good for lunch bags or electronic cord bags or whatever! I love them and they are super easy to make!!

Crochet Hook Holder
I usually crochet in the evenings if watching TV, this is how my side table usually looks.
I've been worried about the grandkids getting my crochet hooks, scissors, pins and needles so have been looking for something to corral things. Found this really cute crochet clutch but last night was thinking about it and thats not really what I want. This isn't quite a bag but it is a container. I put a little steel wool behind the green felt to keep needles sharp. Hopefully the cover will keep little kids from finding them. I used a sundried tomatoes jar which was a little tall for the hooks but I just put some batting in the bottom to make them a little higher. Used scrap corduroy I had left over from another projects. I love it!

Late pillows
Here are my late pillows! I have no excuse either since I bought the fabric in January. They are the Horn classic French seam pillow case that are super easy. They sorta coordinate with my crazy bento box quilt I made last year. They are great for travel pillows too!

March Challenge -- Bags!
Ok Ladies, after much discussion for the topic of the March challenge, we have decided upon bags! Put your thinking caps on as according to dictionary.com a bag is
"a container or receptacle of leather, plastic, cloth, paper, etc.,
capable of being closed at the mouth".
Your options are endless and I am sure everyone is
excited to see what everyone else comes up with!!
On another note...HAPPY NATIONAL CRAFT MONTH!! This month gives us permission to craft all day every day throughout the entire month of March with no grief from the significant other! :)
One last thing. We are very open to ideas for the monthly challenge! So if you have something you would like to see be included, be sure to let us know! All ideas will be strongly considered! :)
something old and new
I had great expectations for my pillow this month. I had a pattern for an Alaskan themed pillow, but the pattern leaves out Kodiak and due to the high Kodiak resident posters I thought I might offend someone! :o) I jokes. It was just a lot more than I had scraps or time for. :o) Maybe next time. I went with a pillow I've been meaning to get done for while now. I've had the pieces all ready to go. I added a few more and love this pillow. I've made it a couple of times.
Now on to the something old... My great, great aunt Jane made 7 pillows for my grandma. She gave five to her children and kept two for herself. A few years ago she gave me one of them. I love it. It's all hand stitched and totally vintage (made 40 years ago). It's great. Well last year she gave me her other one. I didn't have the heart to tell her she'd already given me one so I graciously accepted it. I felt it was a bit unfair to keep for myself because I already have one and I have many sisters that would want one too (there are five of us girls). So last night I carefully unstitched one of the pillows. It came off beautifully and in a great piece. I am going to frame it and give it to my sister Eva Jane for her wedding in April. I know she'll love it. Since it fits with our pillow theme I thought I'd post it. Someday I want to make a few for my family as well. They are called cathedral windows. ENJOY!

Pillow Love
Very simple and not my original "pillow plan", but for now this is it...
(It's more of a Valentine decoration, which tells ya I'm late posting!)
